rat year - year of misfortune?
just seems that the yr of RAT is not really my year
i tot 2008 is a good fortune year in chinese, based on the no 8
somehow, it is not
my shares in stock market, drop like bird shit, no luck at all
fear of US recession, uncertainty, sub-prime & financial woes
how long can the world drag-on?
some of the stock i have now, drop almost 60% of its original value
shall i buy more to leverage down?
very critical question... who can help me?
my HQ now got stock option (capital increase) for employees
oil company, 20% off stock market price & lock-in period : 5 years
but due to economic uncertainty, shall we all go for it?
my boss told me.. dun get too much this round, get a $10k will do
be safe...
ALL THIS ARE RISK - DARE TO TAKE THE RISK?
living cost is raising too fast, too furious
everything go up
inflation rate is just .. much more than what the local government's provided figure
they fail to understand that, the basic necessaties the people need is :
- water &
- food
not all the latest gadget, not the fancy electrical stuffs (that is made in china), etc
the main issue we're facing now is food, food & food.
how many of us notice that the food prices already gone up to a whooping 40%?
those are the days when u wish to save money, buy those canned food & cook yrself
do check the price now.. those canned food are even more pricier than a plate of chicken rice
how to survive?
savings will be depleted
how many of us can ill afford anything now?
and lastly, my career & my love-life
my career seems to hit a stagnant point now...
u may say i like to compare but we guys, somehow a normal guys.. career is v important
exceptional : either u're bloody smart or bloody loaded
normal guys - career is the utmost priority
no career meaning no money, and no money meaning... nothing
u may argue - money can buy a house, but not a family
think this : no money, can u buy a house? without a house, how u setup a family?
same thing to our countries : why men can sacrifice themselves to defend their nation?
country came 1st - no country, do u think u can start a family?
am i facing a mid-life crisis?
many of my peers & buddies are earning big now (or some just started), and i feel that i'm really lagging behind
buck-up, mr KM.
else.. u'll suffer
my love-life?
what can i say more about my yiyi?
still kiddy, still young.. need lots of attention & care from me
but she's lovely, witty & does care for me
quarrel, arguments, etc.. maybe a norm thing to me now
each r/s should go through this
the basic ingredient of setup a family (which many couple fails to do) :
- commitment to each other
- willingness to give rather than calculate how much u'll received
- mutual respect
- harmony, compromising
- understanding &
- a broad heart
but how many can do such a minor but wonderful things?
i'm practicing 'willingness to give' & 'take things easy' now...
whether the outcome is good or bad, leave it to fate
so long as you need to try yr best in doing your part.. and be a responsible man, good enough

pure yoga & uol alumni gathering
---------------------------------------------------
pure yoga
over the last weekend, i follow yiyi go yoga - pure yoga
and is a bloody 'hot yoga'
u know lar.. i old liao, twist here n there, not easy
and i'm not bias against yoga.. is a good form of exercise with relaxing method
i dun like as i got accident when i'm young, hence not possible.
long-long ago, one 'high' people teach me about breathing exercise & control.. whereby at 1 stage, yr mind is free of all thing into a state of nothing : even yr mind also free of everything.
i try that, but nothing happen - till i fall asleep, then i think of nothing
ROI of Pure Yoga
12 months $1908 monthly + 7% ($171 monthly)
24 months $2999 annually + 7%
36 months $3699 annually + 7%
no termination, only 2 site available in s'pore (orchard & raffles place)
exclusive, small class size (ard 20 per class)
frankly speaking, a bit too expensive.
if the price is around $100 monthly, i guess it'll attract more people...
uol alumni gathering
my fellow university mates, all very funny... our bi-annually gathering, talk-talk n talk from last year till this year...
at last, we have a short gathering as many of us can't make it
most of them not in SG, biz travel, etc..
somehow, only left 5 of us who're still in s'pore
all make it big, indeed smart n solid
tay - the successful technoprenuer with 2 directorships, travel more than 50% of the time, yet complete his degree (no time)
terence - still look like an army officer but now in dso, earning 2 masters with a bachelor degree, doing interesting AI (artificial intelligence) works
selamat - jump ship fr CSFB to Morgan Stanley, still the most high-tech guy
murli - taking helicopter, raise from supervisor to regional IT director in a short span of 2 years, earning really good pay with a mnc adversitement company
i guess i'll ask them out more - to motivate myself
i'm just a small local IT department head, haiz... earning... haiz... peanuts (not that peanuts hor)

Winners Versus Losers
The Winner is always part of the answer;
The Loser is always part of the problem.
The Winner always has a program;
The Loser always has an excuse.
The Winner says, "Let me do it for you";
The Loser says, "That is not my job."
The Winner sees an answer for every problem;
The Loser sees a problem for every answer.
The Winner says, " It may be difficult but it is possible";
The Loser says, "It may be possible but it is too difficult."
When a Winner makes a mistake, he says, "I was wrong"; When a Loser makes a mistake, he says, " It wasn't my fault."
A Winner makes commitments;
A Loser makes promises.
Winners have dreams;
Losers have schemes.
Winners say, "I must do something";
Losers say, "Something must be done."
Winners are a part of the team;
Losers are apart from the team.
Winners see the gain;
Losers see the pain.
Winners see possibilities;
Losers see problems.
Winners believe in win-win;
Losers believe for them to win someone has to lose.
Winners see the potential;
Losers see the past.
Winners are like a thermostat;
Losers are like thermometers.
Winners choose what they say;
Losers say what they choose.
Winners use hard arguments but soft words;
Losers use soft arguments but hard words.
Winners stand firm on values but compromise on petty things;
Losers stand firm on petty things but compromise on values.
Winners follow the philosophy of empathy: "Don't do to others what you would not want them to do to you";
Losers follow the philosophy, "Do it to others before they do it to you ."
Winners make it happen;
Losers let it happen.
Winners plan and prepare to win.
The key word is preparation
