Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year
--------------------------------------------
party time...
as what Santa Claus keep singing...
ho-ho-ho...
merry Christmas & a happy new year
after new year, our age = add 1 year...
we always hope for a better new year.. but how better is better?
argh.. don't even bother man!
it is party time...
beside the usual countdown with buddies, open house, etc... i guess the most interesting x'mas parties are with my colleagues this year.
i guess they're all down with Christmas Mood Syndrome.
1st x'mas party (gathering, lucky draw cum bbq inclusive some ex-colleagues) held at moeyx2 place
2nd x'mas party (gathering cum wine testing *exclusive*) held at dorothy place
3rd x'mas party (gifts giving, turkey & log cake feast) held at office
alas...Christmas is over but we're now still in the mood of leave clearing & weekday shopping mood.. to celebrate for the coming New Yeeeear.
photos taken at office party
my peer purposely bring his D70s with a powerful flash-gun for this purpose...
party mood.. let's start!
our early morning mood... in office
gifts, gifts & gifts...
i guess half of it is mine... ok!
just that i wanna put it all together with one of my colleagues.. to make it big man!
my office xiao-mei's with their proud x'mas gifts
and this little *dunno sheep or cow?* i bought for xiao-mei
party time...
the food & the log cake

with the little snow man via macro mode
and now the feasting time...
the turkey-feast opening ceremony
i guess she found a golden egg inside the turkey stomach
AND finally... pose, pose, pose...
xiao-mei with the 3 yamates...
the 3 little blackie(s)...
and me with my 2 laboratory engineers

And a few side dishes.. i didn't bother to even try leh
after jalan-jalan & shop a while around that area, we proceed to Menotti for a cuppa coffee and some delicious cake.
but according to the house rule and repeated reminder from brenda, we must order the cake after 10pm, cos got 50%.
AND i can tell u there's some idiot who just came here just for the cake after 10pm... imagine some idiotic guys came in order a few piece of cake & drink plain water?
damn it.. spoil market!
argh.. we're so different n got class one, ok
we won't wait till after 10pm... cos i got 20% discount... wakaka
according to my accountant there, saving not much.. what's the point of going cheapo when everyone here is high flyer?
cheers...
and our bites...
and after a few sips...

ASIAD
Doha, Qatar - 15th Asian Games
ok guys, here's the final medal tally on asian games
click on the medal table to enlarge
as for details on what type of medals, select this link (asian medal tally)
M'sia is improving, so as Singapore but I'm very disappointing as M'sia can't even surpass the number 10 in golds.
In Olympics, does bowling included?
Anyway... we should congratulate those gold medalist, as well as silver n bronze... they really work hard to get our nations notice & to bring glory to our nations.
and a particular gal that i wish to pay tribute to is :
Nicol Ann DAVID

- born in penang, m'sia but based in Amsterdam
- scoring straight A's in PMR and 9A's in SPM examination
- officially the world number 1
- current British and World Open champion
- only squash player to win world junior title twice
- on 12/05, become the youngest world champion
- nickname : silent assasin/squash queen
she motivate me to play better badminton, stay healthy, doing more outdoor activities and be sporty!

A Battle of Wits (墨攻)
In 370 B.C, China was separated as seven nations and several other small tribes, one of these being the city state of Liang. The nation of Zhao is led by the terrifying prime commander Xiang Yangzhong who orders his troops to launch an attack on Liang in a bid to conquer the small city.

Leaping to the defence of the cowed people of Liang is a warrior who goes by the name of ‘Ge Li’ from the Mo-Tsu tribe, renowned for its defensive skills. He is their last hope as the terrors of Yangzhong’s troops are unleashed. The future of Liang now hangs in the balance, with all their hopes pinned on the mysterious Mo-Tsu warrior Ge Li…
-----------------
A good recommended movie for guys...
Liang state is like a company..who run by a top guy, assists by a few political assistants.
Instead of working together & running the company well, they instill hatred & shooting at each other for their own benefit and gaining trust from the KING.
- smart & capable workers, they ignored...
- those who're good in pleasing their bosses, will be highly regarded...
- issues arise, blaming each others
- in time of peace, executing 'taichi'

A&E Department
--------------------
last sunday is not a good day for our badminton game...
less than an hour into the game, a mis-time hit from his partner smash into my buddy's spectacle and the glass shattered.
oh damn.. seems serious and his eye is drawing blood
we pack our stuff n ran to our car, immediately go to the nearest hospital A&E department, take the temperature & waiting for the doctor
but the waiting time is damn pathetic.jpg)
.jpg)
12:30pm to 4:30pm just to see a minor injuries, acceptable?
lucky it is just a minor injuries & some scratches to his cornea.. just 3 days MC which he's so happy that he can skip his presentation
haiz... see... manager also like that, still scold the doctor why don't have 1 week MC
actually his spec is made of plastic.. but don't know why when the racket hit, it shattered into pieces. the racket model is 'thunderbolt' & we jokingly tell every1 that he's struck by thunderbolt.. which that stupid racket cost ard SGD160.
3 of us intend to get that racket.. should be good man!
lesson learnt :
while doing x-ray to confirm that his eye is free of shattered plastic/glasses, doc need the spec & also the shattered glasses for verification.
so guy/gals.. be alert if yr friends/partners injured by something, remember to describe clearly and better if you can produce it to the doc on time.
it'll help the doctor greatly... and save our life too if the condition is life-threatening
outside the A&E department, civil defence n paramedic are the most hardworking and can consider an angels to many of us.
can u imagine.. ambulance arrival rate is around 1 every 3-5 minutes?
u know how exhausted those paramedic and doctor is?
we notice only 2 types of ppls coming in via ambulance :
- mostly old peoples &
- site workers..
old ppl mostly fall, sick, knock down, etc.. while site workers are normally bandage heavily on head, hand, legs, etc..
i pity those old peoples..
cos' 1 day.. we'll be like them too, either u like it or not!
some are soooooooo skinny till like they're just shrinking man!
oh my god... they're like 20kg at most!
can u believe it?
imagine 4 hours standing there doing nothing (while waiting for my buddy) and just looking at the frantic scene outside A&E department... how do u feel?

Geely Automobile (吉利汽车) - pronounced "JEE-lee"
- 1st independent automobile manufacturer in PRC
- parent company is Geely Holding Group (吉利控股集团)
Something PROTON really need to learn from them :
- started in 1986 (remember when PROTON started?) as a manufacturer of refrigereators, then moved to decoration materials in 1989 and by 1992, motorcycle parts
- 1996, Geely had produced over 200k motorcycles & scooters
- 1998, automobile production started and began exporting it 1st car in 2003
- IPO in 2004
- 1st Chinese car maker to display at the US Detroit auto show
- expected to begin mass sales in Europe in 2007
Geely Objective : wants to sell two-thirds of the company's output overseas
Heard of Chery?
There are 120 carmakers in China & according to goverment data, Geely is No 8 while Chery is No 3.
Geely big idea : In 1997, it thought it would be a good idea to make cars. Less than 12 months later, it rolled out its first units. This year, Geely is poised to produce over 200k cars.
That's nearly double the output of Malaysian's PROTON, which had a 10-year head start...
Important Q :
- how many carmakers in Malaysia currently?
- given 20+ yrs, what PROTON achieve?
WHAT will become of Proton, Malaysia's struggling carmaker?
A political project set up in the 1980s, it never picked up speed, has been overtaken by foreign competitors and has become embroiled in a struggle over its future direction. With its cash reserves running low, it is now in danger of breaking down altogether. The government, which hopes to place the company with a “strategic partner” by next February, simply wants to extricate itself from the mess with the minimum of humiliation.
Which route it will take is the subject of feverish speculation.
Proton market share :
- in 2002 : over 60%
- in 2006 : ard 30%, exptected to reduce further in 2008 (AFTA mandates)
Proton Wira - based on Mitsubishi Lancer/Colt
Proton Perdana - based on Mitsubishi Galant/Eterna
Proton Waja - designed locally
Acquired Lotus in 1996 from Bugatti, lead to production of Proton Gen-2 and in Jun 2005, Proton introduce Proton Savvy.
Proton was into collaboration with MG Rover (British) but the deal subsequently collapsed.
Proton purchase majority share in MV Agusta (Italy - motorcycles) and a year later, Proton sold off its 57.7% share in MV Agusta to another Italian company for a token of Eur1 due to heavy debt.
Proton announced that it'll JV with Volkswagen AG of Germany but nontheless, none of them announced detailed concrete plans for partnership.
In Jan 2006, Volkswagen pull out again...

Asian GAMES
----------------
DOHA, QATAR - 15th Asian Games.
45 countries, 39 sports, 15 days (1 dec to 15 dec 2006)
frankly speaking, how many of u guys know where is DOHA?
another question from me to m'sia team = what is happening to M'sia comparing to those much lesser off countries like Kazakhstan & Uzbekistan or even Iran?
Gold Medal Tally for Malaysia & other countries...
(Kazakhstan Uzbekistan / Others)
Seoul 1986 - 0 gold medals (none)
Beijing 1990 - 2 gold medals (none)
Hiroshima 1994 - 4 gold medals (25/10/9[iran])
Bangkok 1998 - 5 gold medals (24/6/taiwan[19])
Busan 2002 - 6 gold medals (20/15/14[thailand])
Doha 2006 - 3 gold medals [till 9/12/2006] (12/2/5 [north korea])
issit because we don't have any hunger to success?
or because we're all leading a too good pampered life?
Busan result = top 6 as per below... seems that Malaysia is not improving at all since the last Asian games started way back in New Dehli 1951.
that is a whopping 55 years man... i guess m'sia should started on a Wawasan 10 (achive 10 gold medals at least in Yr 2010 Guangzhou!
can anyone tell me WHY?
disappointed or not?

Casino Royale
Casino Royale is a reboot of the series.. meaning this shall be the 1st episode of the Bond, James BOND film.
why leh?
cos this 'ah beng' yet being certified as double O agent mah
so being certify as double O agent.. not as tough as it to be.. just kill 2 fella will do!
this is the shortest guy playing "bond", i think the previous series already being spoilt by the good, suave and mature looking Pierce Brosnan
hence, replacing Mr. Brosnan is damn hard... & this daniel craig really look like 'samseng', hardcore fist fight... fight real hard to earn the title 'double O' agent
frankly speaking.. the movie worth my 10 bucks and he really earn it, kudo to daniel craig.. and now i also know why all the james bond are not faithful at all
this movie actually show u guys the real reason.. why!
bond love this women 'vesper' and devoted himself to her n even quit the service. when the lady agrees, bond emails his resignation to M (his superior) and go for a romantic holiday in Venice.
then something happen... story continues... (watch yrself lar)
the last part, Vesper commits suicide but Bond, feelin' betrayed... and he talk to M that he'll never trust anyone again.. of course this include those voluptuous ladies...
