sickening 2007
-----------------
the much celebrated 2007 is not a gd year afterall...
only good news = the stock market rally
others are all sickening news, which u really dun wish to hear!
1st it brings in all the flooding rain from 2006... just imagine the after effect of flooding.
Sin - many orchid & fish farm nursery gone, some major area are just flooded n cause heavy traffic while the prolong rain dampened everyone's mood!
Malaysia - this is really sucks big time especially the coverage on Kota Tinggi.
if u're talking about 20 yrs back.. flooding still acceptable, natural disaster mah, no big deal lar, right? but this is 2006-2007 era, still flooding?
to u guys.. yep, nothing to do with you.. but to those flood victims, once the flood is in, they really lose everything especially those poor ppls.
they're surviving daily.. "kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang"... u think they still got money inside the bank beside that house?
ok.. to a more serious topic on 2007.
i not sure this is purely coincident or just bad omen!
as i mention earlier, this is the black listing :
- momo kena rob in front of her house
- sisi lost her digital camera
- keankean's prolong sickness since the 1st day of the new year till now
- my aussie friend bacteria infection, few weeks in hospital instead of coming back to SG to visit me n her family
- my sister n brother kena food poisoning, warded
- 2 more friends having buffet at swissotel merchant court, also food poisoning
- i'm a bit better.. just recovering after having my "Po-Chai" pills
damn it... time for us to go amen or pai-pai already

New Year 2007
New lease of life for everyone OR a better year?
let's see...
argh.. still the same, as usual with my colleagues..
early morning reach TUAS.. this is what we're gonna do, having breakkie at pantry
i really miss TOWN
hoayfern open house
one of my ex-colleague got ROM in M'sia and bought a new house with her beau
she already keep asking us to go over..
ex-colleague, must give face.. so 5 of us drive there
but then, we need to buy something for her..& one of my colleague JJ bought the 'fryer' something.. actually it is a lucky draw gift lar
then her house dun have, so we bring-in one for her..
reach JB custom.. the officer mention to us that this item is taxable even though we keep telling him, this is a lucky draw gift... but we got no proof.
lucky draw, u think u can have any proof?
i still remember long-long time ago, i bring in a SONY combo player & my HR still give me an official letter that this is a lucky draw gift.
end-up?
those idiots still eat me RM50
ok.. then we decided to pay tax, just RM30
go ahead.. we pay!
that idiot go inside the office then try to act this n that..
end up.. we just gave him RM10, case close...
conclusion.. must be a member, then our journey will be smooth
open house at 7pm, we reach there around 3pm+
then we saw this shop selling badminton racquet, hehe.. there we are
the only problem, we can't get our dream racquet & end-up we spend RM430 for 2 racquets
proace thunderbolt can't get, so 'chin-chai' get a thunderbolt evolution lor
we reach hoayfern's house already ard 7pm+ after get ourselves full
go there walk2, talk2.. then eat a bit..
double-storey terrace house ard RM200k, quite spacious..
k.. here's are the night mode photo i manage to take lar
where's in M'sia, my colleagues doesn't have such a gd luck like us here
one of my gd friend momo scare the hell out of her life
1st time of her life, being robbed in front of her house... by indians via 2 motocycles
can u imagine that?
in SG, the police keep campaigning n alerting us on "low crime doesn't no crime" but in MY, i dunno what are they doing...
while another of my gd friend sisi lost her beloved camera
she lost sleep for so many days... poor her
i think she should heed my suggestion, get a heavier & bright camera since she's so forgetful and sotongy blur... macam SOTONG!

My 2007 Resolution
-----------------------
wow.. this is year 2007
huh.. time does flies.. superbly fast
so what had i do for the whole damn past 10 yrs?
any proud achievement?
err... can't really think of what i should proud off, really...
but it's okay, new year.. comes with new resolutions
i shall age gracefully....
monkey business?
hmmph... here's the list of my proud yr 2007 resolution. i mean resolution lar.. can do it or not, of course is another thingy but hope can do it...
i'll do my best to achieve it.. practically
HEALTHY - meaning i would spend more time on sports, jogging, etc.. to keep myself healthy & train-up my lousy stamina
Wealthy & Prosperous - is this resolution?
PHOTOGRAPHY - 1 that i keep passionate about. I'll get a Canon 400D dSLR by Jan 2007 and will slowly build-up my stash of lenses. I'll spend more time on photography for sure.
INSTRUMENTS - will get myself a nice instrument-capable amplifier booster & will try my best to allocate time for a classic guitar course (if possible)
PDA OS - after using Symbian, PocketPC, WM5 & time to spare on Palm OS, will have a final verdict on which is the best PDA OS around
Investment return - hope most of the stock that i've invested, yielding results.. again, is this consider a resolution?
CAR - is it necessary or nice to have? 8/10 of my buddies owning a car... & lately another 1 just bought himself a nissan latio.
is it a status?
definitely nope for me... but i'll promise myself enough time to get myself a car when the license plate turn to SKMXXXX.
so i got enough a year time for me to save n get myself a cute little car... hehe!

-----------------------------
so coincidentally 1 of my colleague get married on the 31/12/2006.. i suppose lucky for the guy too as their marriage anniversary is super-duper easy to remember.
end of the year.. muah ha ha ha
the bride suddenly quite tall that night
being mischievious even on her wedding night
right 2.. the ex-beauty queens
colleagues n ex-colleagues... gathering
this pair of chicken head n tail.. is for the naughty bride
k.. after our dinner, we didn't bother to drive there as we know it'll be jammed pack. hence we take 2 cabs heading down to esplanade (durian)
somehow.. 2 group of us didn't manage to meet-up till after the end of the fireworks... and after our cell phone network less congested.
this is a damning reality which no one bothers!
the ppl here keep preaching about safety, fire evacuation, emergency drills, terrorist simulation attack, etc..
but frankly speaking... even small occasion like mid-autumn festival also can jammed a cell phone network, don't talk about festive season like NY, CNY, Christmas, etc...
yes.. those who think that they're smart enough or those network provider will argue that.. 'common, 1 year how many time will it occured?'
i do agree.. but when terrorist attack or a real emergency evacuation, u only need 1 time! and during that time.. do u think yr cell phone network will work?
frankly speaking - mobile phone are useful only for peaceful time!
anyway.. here's the photo taken on the fireworks night
just too bad the the photo of the fireworks sucks.. while video is too huge

Asian stock indice overall in year end-2006
---------------------------------------------------
Click on the datasheet to enlarge...
Argh... just the stock market index only, right?
who cares?
BUT shouldn't you know yr own countries health/wealth instead of relying on data from government and financial experts?
Asian stocks continued a strong year-end run, with MSCI's Asia ex-Japan index up 0.7 percent at an all-time high.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng (HKSE:^HSI) closed above 20,000 points for the first time, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 (Australia: ^AXJO) hit a record peak of 5,673.7 points.
Singapore's Straits Times (SES:^STI) hitting a record high of 2991.35 for the 1st time and the 52 weeks range showing the growth from 2277.91 to 2991.35.
Feng shui investors brace for year of fire on water
HONG KONG (Reuters) - Forget fund flows and profit predictions, 2007 is about "fire sitting on water."
Buy oil, avoid metals, and don't get your fingers burned.
Raymond Lo
The elements - they are in conflict
Because it's fire and water, and they're not in harmony. So therefore next year in January, it's not so peaceful."
Lo expects a stock market boom in the first half of the year, with Hong Kong's Hang Seng index (HKSE: ^HSI) likely to soar over 20,000 points, creating an "illusion of optimism" before a steep drop. The market is up 30 percent this year at 19,216 and, along with other Asian bourses struck record highs in 2006.
Edvin Mah
Investors should focus on stocks harnessing the elemental force of fire, and avoid those vulnerable to it. Oil, given its combustible nature, will be a gainer. Construction and property firms are also in favor.
Oil prices will rise at least 5 percent, because the fire will be fierce, and other sectors related to fire will also rise.
Metals such as gold, steel and zinc, top performers this year, could be tempered in 2007.
"The fire will dominate them," he said, along with sectors related to gold, such as financial and banking stocks.
LAI Hon-fai
Fire is the 2007 force but wood will moderate the destructie effects.
The wood element will have a secret effect on the fire by adding prosperity. So on the surface things might not be as good as this year, but there'll still be relatively normal growth.
Years ending with the number seven have a track record of stock market disaster, Lo warns, referring to the 1987 Wall Street crash and the Asian financial crisis that struck a decade later.
"You have to be very careful, the worst could be October ... but it won't be as bad as 1997," he said.
On the political front, Lo expects strife in the Western world, but few flashpoints in Asia.
"There will be turbulence, there will be fights, there will be explosions and clashes. It's also a year of evolution."
"Asia is comparatively stable, the bad energy is in the North next year, so therefore America and those (Western) countries will more easily have natural disasters and other problems."
He also believes a "sick" energy might arise.
"Something we have to be careful of is sickness and health problems. Epidemics could come. We have to worry about avian flu, that kind of thing."
