Winter Solstice Festival (冬至)
冬至 is the second most important festival of the Chinese calendar.
Celebrated on the longest night of the year, 冬至 is the day when sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest.
In ancient China, many poor people were not able to protect themselves against the blistering cold winter, & they often resort to eating bowls of warm 'tang-yuan' to keep warm.
冬至 : how many of us here really going through such experience (dirt poor, hunger in cold blistering night), and able to taste a bowl of warming hot 'tang-yuan' on such occasion?
冬至 : will it have meaning to other chinese or we just celebrate because it is a 冬至?
